Dragon Balm - Single Product Business
MyDragonBalm is a pain relief salve that my close friend had perfected for many years.
With an incredible product already made; I produced all digital assets and the brand by myself.
I even came up with the domain name, Mydragonbalm.com.
The website is a lightweight WordPress site, using the boilerplate Underscores. With Gravity Forms and Squareup for ecommerce transactions. We get SMS notifications with Twillio when an order is placed.
All transacitional emails are sure to be delivered and accounted for with Mailgun for API email delivery. I used Bootstrap for CSS and set up continuous development using Gulp.js for efficiency.
For the product label, I rendered 3d mockups easily in Adobe Dimensions. So we got to test a realistic view, and were finally happy after practically 100 revisions.
All of the digital assets - photos, vector shapes, and working files are organized in the brand’s cloud. Already prepared for a future of growth and inviting creatives to collaborate.
Policies and disclaimers were a great deal too. We needed a privacy policy, terms of use, shipping policy, return policy, and FDA disclaimer. It also turns out, the only way we can refer to the truly organic product, is by saying “made with 100% organic ingredients”. That is, apparently, the law since the product hasn’t been USDA tested.
We launched an etsy store too, which was a breeze with our assets in hand - our ducks in a row.
We now have push advertising on these networks; Google, Bing, Verizon, Facebook.
Visit Dragon Balm’s Homepage or their Etsy store to see it in action.
This was my first time using 3D renders in production for a business, and Adobe Dimensions made it easy. Also the shape of the product was very simple, so I barely needed to do modelling. I suggested 3D for two reasons:
- 3D is cheaper than professional photography. And after you have your models you can make as many scenes as you can think of.
- I was already designing product labels, and 3D renderings were the most practical way to present them to the client.
I designed a few variations until we were happy with the result. Sent optimal files with percise dimensions to a label printing company.
