Get started with WordPress Hosting, choosing the right one
Need help picking the right WordPress hosting company? We'll go over some potential solutions for your situation.
When choosing the right web host for your business, you want to pair with a company that fits you for multiple years. Not only because migrations are time consuming. But any time spent with the wrong hosting plan is something no one deserves.
Here are some of my go-to WordPress Hosting recommendations.
Since a lot depends on your situation, I’ll lay out my top pick for different scenarios.
Considerations should also be made, if for example, you are running Elementor or Divi.
For most low traffic sites, it’s okay to get less memory than your software says it requires. Your backend might be a little slow. But with proper caching, the front-end experience for your users can be fast on any host.
Budgeted Hosting for Beginners
Siteground has been our go-to recommendation for beginners and new startups.
SiteGround
Siteground is my best pick for beginners who want full control.
Beginner and advanced users can all appreciate the Siteground experience.
What we like about it:
- You can host unlimited sites with the GrowBig plan. Great for agencies wanting to budget
- Unlimited Free Email accounts are included in the server. Which can be integrated with your phone etc
- Very affordable especially during the sign-up
Downside:
- Back-end WordPress performance doesn’t compare to cloud hosting.
- Rate goes up after initial sign-up period.
Willing to pay $35/mo for Premium WordPress Hosting?
If you are willing to pay $35/mo for web hosting you’re breaking into the mid-to-top tier. $35/mo is relatively high for basic web hosting. So the extra cost brings a lot of value.
We are typically torn between WP Engine and Kinsta when it comes to premium WP hosting. So we let customers decide for themselves.
Because they are both very good, it’s a matter of which company you like more.
Personally I like Kinsta more than WP Engine as a company, but WP Engine is vastly more popular.
Kinsta
Kinsta is a premium WordPress hosting company that offers great performance and customer service.
- They’re a no-bs company. I like their transparent business practices.
- Beautiful & simple UI for managing websites
- High server performance
WP Engine
WP Engine is another high quality WP host that costs about $35 per month.
- Reputable service with many years at the top of WP Hosting
Note: With some web hosts, you can expect your costs to rise after 50-100k monthly visitors.
Our Preferred Hosting - Cloudways
Our most preferred WordPress hosting provider is Cloudways. While not as robust as WP Engine and Kinsta, and more suitable for advanced users. The value of their cloud hosting is unmatched in our view. Granted proper setting up and management of the server.
